Wrap it in greaseproof paper and cut it in half. The paper will hold it all in and you can just peel it back from the middle of the sandwich to eat.

You just have to learn to sandwich better. Stick with it, you’ll get there!

Thinner cut tomatoes and shredded lettuce. Is that bacon or pastrami? If that meat is on long flat pieces of lettuce, it’ll just slide off

I smush all my sandwhiches as I make them. Smush the bejeesus out of them, and they tend to stick better.

I saw a youtuber put all her sandwich stuff inside a big lettuce leaf

Don’t have wet stuff on other wet stuff

  7. For square loaf bread like that grab 2 toothpicks.

Tessellation is key, and your layers need to be perpendicular, not parallel to each other.

I messed up and didnt follow my own advice earlier and paid for it with a sloppy sandwich.

  9. This probably sounds insane but – flip it upside down and eat it. Trust me.

I always wrap my sandwich in parchment or wax paper tightly before eating.
Helps a super fully sandwich stick together better or even if it’s still too messy just eat it wrapped in the paper to keep shape

Toothpicks are good. Also dont sauce the side of the sammy that has the wet ingredients. Mayo, mustard, etc should go on the opposite bread as the lettuce, etc.

Also, just take fucking enormous bites. And cup your sammy like its precious, like you are cupping your hands under a sink to get a drink of water.

I do two things, not always together.

    1) Toothpicks. This prevents items from slipping away as you take bites
    2) Tight wrap with parchment or foil, and wait 5 min before eating. On a hot sandwich, this give the cheese time to melt and glue everything together.

well, the important thing with sandwiches is the some ingredients are tying, and some are tied: ie mayo is going to tie your bread to something, but if you stack to much of the tied category together you’ll get slippage (lettuce tomato etc), so you need to alternate these, and also consider the texture of what you’re adding, the bacon has a anti dérapant effect, so if you put between your tomato and lettuce, you’ll get more grip! also drying your tomato a bit can help reduce slippage! but like others say, make sandwiches, see what works and tweak until perfect! also refer to classic (ie: the club) can help understand structural integrity of ingredients to one another!

  14. A strong grip on the back side and a mouth large enough to fit the sandwich in.

In addition to the “smush” that other people mentioned, it’s a BLT — bacon, lettuce, tomato, in that order. Lettuce on bread will always slips.

If you can just get it to your mouth, your mouth will handle the rest.

Step 1: get it to your mouth.

  17. I don’t know how much it will help you, but I used to work next to a place that revolutionized BLTs for me. They shredded the lettuce, and diced the tomato and bacon, so it was all in perfectly even layers and you didn’t have to tear through a whole piece of bacon or slice of tomato to get a bite, it was just a beautifully balanced nosh from start to finish. I’ll never go back.

  18. Put a piece of bread on the plate you’re eating over and when you’re done….2nd sandwich!

Smash it together better unless it has a sloppy sauce. And grab firmly and continue holding everything firmly together whilst you eat. Ans usualky have to pick up little bits that fall out and set them back on top for the next bite.

I use my pinkies and ring fingers to clamp the back shut while I hold it

Cut your sandwich in half the long way. Those corners you made are bad for holding stuff

    Practice, couple tips…

    1. Stronger grip on the perimeters shape your hands like a curved vessel
    2. Eat the sandwich over your head as if you are staring into the sun
    3. Layer inner components like jenga
    4. Reduce wet stuff and pair them accordingly with bread surface

I dont use lettuce and rarely tomato.
